Not soft! Aug 26, 2010 I bought these bibs for my 10 month old who doesn't like wearing a bib anymore. I thought at least these would be soft (as the name implies) and that he may like to chew on them the way he does his kiddopotamus table place mat. Not so! These bibs are not at all soft, and the way it fastens around the neck hardly holds together even if you are not trying to pull it off. These bibs are a great idea in theory, but in my opinion, Baby Bjorn needs to work on the design of the product.
Best bib ever Aug 20, 2010 We had issues with our son pulling off his regular bibs, and it was so impractical to have laundry loads that consisted of small items like a few bibs. The soft bibs are a brilliant idea, and there exists no comparable copy that I know of. We did our research and for ease of use and overall practicality, there are no peers. Our son no longer pulls on the more rigid bib and it seems to fit much more comfortably. Sanitary clean up is truly effortless. Two Bjorn bibs replaced a whole collection of cloth and plastic type bibs. Highly recommended.
BEST BIBS EVER! Aug 11, 2010 We used to use the Bumkins Waterproof SuperBib, Unisex, 3-Pack which we bought from Babies R Us. After about a year and a half, they started to SMELL GROSS. I mean really gross. We washed them regularly, and hung them to air dry over the sink faucet, but they still developed mildew spots on them.
So, we switched to the Baby Bjorn bibs and are very happy w/ them so far! Here's why they're better than any others I've seen/tried:
*** They are EASY TO KEEP CLEAN- just wash w/ soap and water and you're good to go. Or, you can toss them in the dish washer (which is nicer than the laundry b/c I'd always forget to grab the bibs when I was doing the right load of laundry to add them to).
*** They are a GOOD SIZE- This coming from a mom of a messy toddler boy!
*** The BOTTOM POCKET WORKS- It actually catches the food/liquid spills! Most pocket bibs don't stay propped open, so a good bit of food still ends up in your child's lap!
*** They DO NOT STINK OVER TIME- If you plan to use your bibs for a long while, this makes a big difference!!!
*** EASIER TO AIR DRY- We had to hang our old bibs over our sink faucet to keep the pocket out while it dried (which evidently didn't do the trick well enough b/c it still got mildew!) and so it was always in the way! With these I can just lay them beside the sink to dry b/c they don't fold up on themselves.
I think these are the only way to go if you have a messy eater!
My baby hates this bib. Jul 22, 2010 I want to love this bib. We have many Baby Bjorn products and this, by far, is the least useful. The plastic bib might work well IF the baby is willing to wear.
My baby hates it when he started baby food at 7 month old (he now is 20 mo.) He refused to wear, crying, trying to rip the bib off (thanks to the snap disclosure, he couldn't) and finally stopping eating because this bib annoyed him so much. I had to change a softer yet still waterproof bib. I've made my baby wear it several times. He still goes crazy when I put this on him. I hate to see a well design product useless and will save it for my friend's baby.
Baby Bjorn bib Jul 14, 2010 My sister-in-law uses this bib for my nephews and it is fantastic. There is never a mess to cleanup because it traps all the food in the bib. The bib is super easy to clean off. I feel like those silly cloth bibs don't do anything, but these are terrific. Some of the copy cat bibs don't work as well as the Baby Bjorn. I know that they are easier to pack in the diaper bag, because they roll up whereas the Baby Bjorn bib doesn't, but they don't trap all of the food as well. I love this product and I always give it as a gift at baby showers. They have become quite a hit with all my friends!
