 Great shoe for little kids! Jun 29, 2010
I love this shoe! I bought it for my 20-month-old son, who wears a size 10. He has very large feet for his age and these were the only durable sandals I could find for him. I am very pleased. He never stubs his toes any more and they don't stink at all. He wears them everywhere--in water, to the park---they dry fairly quickly and they seem to be very comfortable. We like them so much we are buying them in pink for our 3 year-old!

Every year we buy the teva sandals for my daughter but this is the first year to buy the Toachi style. We love them! My daughter always stubbed her toes but the toe cover prevents that now. Teva's are awesome and she always outgrows them before they wear out. I highly recommend this sandal to anyone!

The problem with sandals that are closed toed is that they make your feet sweat, and when the sweat gets into the man-made material, it cause bacteria to grow and then the stench starts. It is the worst smell I have ever encountered and nothing would get it out of the sandals. I washed them, soaked them in vinegar, baking soda and anything else i knew would take out the smell and kill the bacteria. And my poor kids, every time they took off their shoes everyone would start making faces. I would wash their feet with soap and they would still smell. These sandals are a bit more open on its sides so i hope we will avoid the problem. so far so good....but they have only worn them 4 times and the real hot weather has not come yet. So we will see.

Fabulous shoe, very comfy but makes feet smell Mar 21, 2010
I bought these for my 7 yr old daughter - she loved them from the very start. They were so comfy that she would wear them instead of any other shoe. She would wear them day and night if she could, and that's what she did for a while. But then we noticed that her feet REALLY stink after wearing them. She does not have this problem with any other shoes or sandals. Tried washing the shoes, but it did not make a lot of difference. So she has now swapped to another pair of sandals, and her feet smell just fine. Also, after a few months the front bit (where the big toe goes) is starting to come apart. A little disappointing.
Overall, still the most comfortable sandals she has ever owned, and she still loves them, but cannot wear them as often as she would like to.

After returning a new pair of Keen Newport H2 sandals that I bought from LL Bean (velcro separated from strap w/i days), I decided to see what Teva had to offer in a closed toe sandal. I loved the closed toe feature of the Keen Newport H2 because it keeps my kid's fee much cleaner and it's safer when they are climbing on rocks at the beach. Although Teva's Toachi isn't a completely closed toe shoe, it did the trick nicely. My 8 yr old son put them to the test at Disney World, Epcot, Animal Kingdom & Universal Studios. No matter what the event, his Teva Toachi sandals were up for the task. They never bothered his feet. They got soaked and dried 20 times over the period of 10 days. They held up nicely, as they should for the price! I don't mind paying a little more if I get my money's worth. I would recommend these sandal especially for boys who play hard outdoors.
