Outstanding customer service experience! Jul 07, 2010 Totes/Isotoner customer service rocks! My umbrella became frayed a few months after purchase. When I returned it (with $5.00 check for S&H) per Totes instructions, I received a personal letter back -- with my check voided. The customer service rep indicated that Totes didn't expect me to pay S&H when I'd had the umbrella for such a short time. They're sending a new one under separate cover. Huge thank you to customer service. Only reservations:
1. Hope the umbrella holds up a little better this time.
2. Wish the corporation would have a friendlier attitude toward its employees. In Ohio, a former employee recently lost her discrimination suit that was prompted by getting fired for taking "unauthorized breaks" to express her breastmilk. Extend that great customer service approach to your employee relations, Totes, and everyone will want to work with you!
Very good quality, and good feel. Jul 01, 2010 Very good build quality, materials, and I really like the smooth functionality of opening and using the button to close. Highly recommended for a small portable umbrella.

The Perfect Compact Umbrella Jun 03, 2010 This is the perfect compact umbrealla. It says on the box that it's for men so when it came in the mail my husband almost took it assuming it was for him. We both pondered what about the umbrella made it for men specifically -- was the handgrip larger? I still don't know but here are the features about it that are different from my standard totes umbrella:
1. The grip is in a softer platic that's easier to hold onto if your hands are wet. Nice upgrage.
2. The wrist loop is an elasticised band as opposed to a knit, which I find to be a bit more comfortable.
3. The band to wrap around the umbrella to keep it closed is substantially wider which is easier to use
4. It push button opens and closes. The push button close is a nice feature if it ends up being particularly gusty and I need to close my umbrella in a hurry.
The umbrella is a great size. It's small enough and light weight enough to fit easily in my purse. The canopy is the perfect size -- large enough to comfortably keep me dry but small enough to comfortably walk down a busy city street with it too. It's also very durable. I've used it in the intense wind that blows off the Boston Harbor creating wind tunnels between the tall buildings and it has held up admirably. I can't think of anything I'd change about it.
Compact, easy to use umbrella May 09, 2010 My old umbrella had seen better days. So I bought this new Totes as a replacement. It meets my needs perfectly: compact, easy to open and close, sturdy, and it even keeps me from getting wet when it's raining.
Great price but smaller than expected Apr 13, 2010 Umbrella was much smaller than expected. Actually open measurement was two inches less than spec. Does not seem as well built as my past Totes. Ended up giving them to my Grandchildren. Perfect size for them and they love them.,
